COVID-19 by the numbers for Oct. 21

Our number of COVID-19 inpatients continues to fall.

We’re caring for 62 inpatients with COVID-19, and those patients make up 14 percent of our total patient population.

That’s a 29 percent decrease from this time last week when we were caring for 87 COVID patients.

Of those hospitalized with COVID now, 21 are in the ICU, and 81 percent of those patients are not vaccinated. Fourteen of our COVID inpatients are on a ventilator, and 71 percent of those are not vaccinated. Among all COVID-19 inpatients, 77 percent are not vaccinated.

Thirteen percent of our inpatients are younger than 50.

Our current seven-day average is 8 percent for patients testing positive for COVID-19 while our 14-day average is 8 percent. We’re averaging 29 new cases per day during the past seven days.

Our overall positive rate since we started COVID-19 testing is 14 percent.
