Dr. Jeffrey DiLisi offers Happy Nurses Week, Healthcare Week; addresses growth

Dear teammates,

Happy Nurses Week and Healthcare Week to you! I’m looking forward to honoring you throughout this week for your tremendous contributions to our patients and the Lowcountry. I hope you feel as appreciated as you are.

As I reflect on our future role in the community, growth is one of the first words that comes to mind. The Charleston region’s population is growing three times faster than the U.S. average and making news headlines for it, most recently The New York Times last month listing us as one of the Top 10 regions gaining people the quickest.

We owe it to our new friends and neighbors to expand services so they can receive our compassionate, high quality, faith-based care closer to where they live, work and play.

That is why we are investing in a new consultant partner, McKinsey & Company, to assist us in developing the RSFH 2030 Plan. We want a clear path for how Roper St. Francis Healthcare will grow and serve generations to come.

Part of this effort involves eliminating the role of vice president & chief strategy and business development officer. I want to thank Craig Self for the nearly two years he spent with us. We will pause on filling this position as McKinsey & Company help us in defining our roadmap for the future.

Determining the smartest way to grow to serve more people is our most important initiative this year. If you haven’t already, please watch my latest video message on the State of Roper St. Francis Healthcare in which I talk about the importance of refining our strategic plan, defining the future of Roper Hospital and Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital and creating a clear vision for our healthcare system.

I look forward to this exciting time as we look for new and innovative ways to serve more people.

Thank you for your time and wish you a tremendous week.
